Farmington Hills, MI – Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company is pleased to announce that Barb Cristea has been named vice president of internal audit. In this role, Cristea will oversee the financial, information technology, regulatory and operational audit function. A key component of her position will be providing the audit committee of the board of directors and senior management with updates on the internal audit environment.
“Barb’s background and extensive experience bring an independent, systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the organization’s control and governance process,” said Angela McBride, chief administrative officer at Amerisure. “Barb will undoubtedly contribute to our continued operational and strategic success.”
Cristea joined Amerisure in 2005 as part of the internal audit department. She has since held various leadership positions within the financial services department and Agency Business Solutions, LLC — a subsidiary of Amerisure Mutual Holdings. She most recently served as vice president, corporate controller.
Prior to joining Amerisure, Cristea worked as the director of accounting and reporting at WellPoint. She also served as a financial analyst for Medical Mutual, and an auditor for Ernst & Young Global Limited.
She received her Bachelor of Science in accounting and business management from Baldwin Wallace University.
